Eligibility Criteria

  1. Only one entry from each school is permitted to participate in every competition.
  2. Additionally, each school may bring up to 10 accompanists, which can include teachers, coordinators or other students.
  3. Participants must be current bonafide students of grades from 9th to 12th.
  4. Students may register for multiple competition categories. Please note that the participation fee is applicable individually for each sub-category and must be paid separately for every event entered.

Folk Group Dance

  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. Minimum of 8 and Maximum of 10 participants per team. The team may consist of all boys, all girls,
    or a mixture of both.
  3. Recorded music/audio is permitted for the performance.
  4. The dance can be either primitive or a traditional folk dance but not a classical one.
  5. Duration of performance is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 minutes.
  6. The maximum time allotted for setting of the dance props is 2 minutes.
  7. Three copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text of the song, if any, are to be submitted
    along with the entry form at the time of registration.
  8. Use of materials such as real flowers, confetti, coloured powder that may make stage slippery is
    strictly prohibited.
  9. The participating team will be responsible for the removal of their sets/properties, etc.,
    immediately after the completion of their performance.
  10. Judgment will be based on theme, rhythm, formation, expression, costumes & makeup.
  11. Marking strictly on the quality of dance, choreography, coordination of team members, overall
    impact of performance, and authenticity. Extra efforts on creating visual elegance with set design will not be considered for marking.
  12. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Western Group Dance

  1.  Each school can send only one entry.
  2. Minimum of 08 and Maximum of 10 participants per team. The team may consist of all boys, all
    girls or a mixture of both.
  3. The Western Group Dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance.
  4. Duration of performance is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 minutes.
  5. Recorded music is permitted during the Western group dance.
  6. Judgment will be based on qualities like theme, rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, footwork, makeup and choreography. Use of materials such as real flowers, confetti, colored powder that may make the stage slippery is strictly prohibited.
  7.  Three copies of a brief note on the description of the dance story involved in it if any, and of the accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English must be submitted at the time of registration.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Western Solo Dance

  1. Each school can send only one entry.
  2. Duration of performance is a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 minutes.
  3. Recorded music is permitted during the Western Solo Dance.
  4. Judgment will be based on qualities like theme, rhythm, synchronization, formation, expression,
    costumes, footwork, makeup & choreography.
  5. Three copies of a brief note on the description of the dance story involved in it if any, and of the accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English, must be submitted at the time of registration.
  6. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Classical Solo Dance (Indian)

  1. Each school can send only one entry.
  2. The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance like Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Odissi & Sattriya.
  3. A maximum of three accompanists is permissible. Participants will be allowed up to 3 minutes for preparation.
  4.  Duration of performance is a minimum of 6 minutes and a maximum of 8 minutes.
  5. Recorded music, as well as live music, is permitted during the classical dance performances.
  6.  Judgment will be based on qualities like Taal, technique, rhythm, abhinaya or expression, costumes, footwork and overall impact.
  7.  Three copies of a brief note on the description of the dance story involved in it, if any and of the
    accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English, must be submitted at the time of
    registration.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Skit

  1. Only one team per school will be allowed.
  2. A maximum of 8 participants are allowed to participate in this item.
  3. The duration of the skit shall be between 6–8 minutes.
  4. Use of makeup, drapery, and background music is allowed. No personal remarks, aspersions,
    character assassination are allowed.
  5. Participating teams should submit three copies of the synopsis of the theme of the skit, along with
    the language of presentation (Hindi or English) on the day of registration
  6. The item will be judged based on qualities like theme, work on acting, stagecraft, design and
    general impression.
  7. Vulgarity or inappropriate insinuations in the presentation should be avoided. Only innocent satire or humor is expected.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Street Play

  1. Only one entry per school will be entertained.
  2. Each team should consist of 8 to 10 members & the maximum number of accompanists should not
    exceed 2 members.
  3. Teams can choose their own theme.
  4. Content must be original, appropriate for all age groups, messaging social reform and not include
    any offensive, disrespectful or vulgar content.
  5. Performances can be in Hindi, English or a mix of both. Use of local dialects is prohibited.
  6. Each team will be allowed a maximum of 8 minutes for their performance. Exceeding the time limit may result in point deductions.
  7. Teams are responsible for their own costumes and props, which should be minimal and easy to set
    up and remove within the allowed time. Hazardous materials or open flames are prohibited.
  8. Teams can use musical instruments and pre-recorded music, which must be submitted to the organizers in advance.
  9. Performances will take place in an open area designated by the organizers. Teams must ensure
    their setup and performance do not cause any damage to the venue.
  10.  Judgment will be based on creativity, relevance to theme, acting, team coordination and overall
    impact.
  11. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Mime

  1.  Only one entry per school will be entertained.
  2.  A maximum of 06 participants are allowed to participate in this item.
  3. Judgment will most likely be based on qualities like idea, creativity of presentation, use of
    makeup, music, costume and general impression.
  4. Duration of performance shall be between 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Poster Making

  1. Each school will be represented by one participant.
  2. Topic for Poster Making will be “India @ 2047”.
  3. The duration will not be more than 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  4. Poster drawing should be made in vertical/poster format only.
  5. Participants shall bring their own material. Only the drawing paper/sheet 22” x 15” will be provided by the organizers.
  6. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Painting

  1. Each school will be represented by one participant.
  2.  Topic for Painting competition will be ‘Heritage of Gujarat’.
  3. The duration will not be more than 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  4. The size of the painting will be half imperial size drawing paper, i.e., 22” x 15”.
  5. Painting can be done in oil, water, poster, or pastel colors.
  6.  Use of any fonts, letter, words, slogans or text in the poster is not allowed. The poster should be
    completely visual.
  7. Candidates shall bring their own material like brushes, paints etc. Only the paper/sheet will be
    provided by the host university.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Cartooning

  1. Each school will be represented by one participant.
  2. Duration will not exceed 2 hours 30 minutes.
  3. Topic for cartooning will be ‘Tech-Addiction’.
  4. Participants shall bring their own materials. Only the drawing paper 22″ x 15″ will be provided by the host university.
  5. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Clay Modelling

  1. Each school will be represented by one participant.
  2. Duration will not exceed 2 hours 30 minutes.
  3. Topic for Clay Modeling will be ‘Motherhood’.
  4. Participants shall bring their own materials like Terracotta clay or soft grey clay & other supporting material.
  5. Kids’ colored clay is not allowed.
  6. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Rangoli Making

  1. Each school will be represented by one participant.
  2. Duration will not exceed 2 hours 30 minutes.
  3. Participants shall bring their own materials. This art is known differently in various regions such as Mandana, Alpana Alekhan, Kolam Rangoli etc. For this, the medium and form for expression can be freehand, pictorial and descriptive.
  4. Topic for Rangoli will be ‘ Traditional India’.
  5. Only one medium shall be used – powdered color, Flower Petals, sawdust or pulses or Rice without pasting.
  6. Participants will have to prepare a rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.
  7. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Mehndi

  1. Each participating school can depute only 1 student participant with one Accompanist.
  2.  Due credit will be given to originality, creativity, decorative art with aesthetic sense.
  3. Theme for Mehndi will be ‘Festival’.
  4. Use of handprint, any kind of mold and any kind of decorative material is not allowed.
  5. The participant has to bring their own Mehndi and other required materials.
  6. Duration will not exceed 2 hours 30 minutes.
  7. The Mehndi must extend to the palmer side of the forearm with a minimum six-inch length.
  8. The participant has to draw the Mehndi on the palmar side of both hands of the model. The
    model should be a student of the same school.
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Debate

  1. Each school will be represented by two debaters; one will speak FOR the motion, while the other will speak AGAINST the motion.
  2. Medium of expression will be English or Hindi.Any one language is allowed.
  3. Topic for Debate Competition is
    “Does the current education system and policies adequately prepare students for the real world?”
    “क्या आज की शिक्षा व्यवस्था और नीतियाँ छात्रों को वास्तविक जीवन की चुनौतियों के लिए सही मायनों में तैयार कर पा रही हैं?”
  4. Each debater must speak for a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
  5. Reading from paper or any other source is strictly prohibited.
  6. One participant from each school will speak FOR the motion and the other will speak AGAINST the motion.
  7. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Elocution

  1. Each school will be represented by one speaker.
  2. Medium of expression will be English or Hindi. Any one language is allowed.
  3. Each speaker must speak for a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
  4. Topic for Elocution Competition:
    “From Spirituality to Science, My India is Great.” “अध्यात्म से विज्ञान, मेरा भारत महान”
  5. The item may be presented in prose or poetry form, but not as a song.
  6. Reading from paper or any other source is strictly prohibited.
  7. The sequence of speakers will be decided by a draw of lots.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Poetry (English)

  1. Each school will be represented by one poet.
  2. Medium of expression will be English.
  3. Each participant must perform for a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
  4. The performance will be judged in one selected language only.
  5. The item shall be Self-Written poetry and not a song.
  6. Reading from paper or any other source is strictly prohibited.
  7. The sequence of poets will be decided by a draw of lots.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Poetry (Hindi)

  1. Each school will be represented by one Poet.
  2. Medium of expression will be Hindi.
  3. Each speaker has to speak a minimum of 3 minutes or maximum 5 minutes.
  4. The performance will be judged in one language.
  5. The item shall be Self-Written poetry and not a song.
  6. Reading from paper or any other source is strictly not permissible.
  7. The sequence of poets will be decided by a draw of lots.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Poetry (Gujarati)

  1. Each school will be represented by one Poet.
  2. Medium of expression will be Gujarati.
  3. Each speaker has to speak a minimum of 3 minutes or maximum 5 minutes.
  4. The performance will be judged in one language.
  5. The item shall be Self-Written poetry and not a song.
  6. Reading from paper or any other source is strictly not permissible.
  7. The sequence of poets will be decided by a draw of lots.
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Classical Vocal Solo

  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. Duration of performance shall be between minimum of 6 minutes or maximum 8 minutes.
  3. Time for stage/instruments setting is a maximum of 3 minutes.
  4. Maximum number of accompanists is 03.
  5. Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnataka style.
  6. Cinema songs are not allowed under this item.
  7. Judgment will be based on qualities like Swar, Tal, Selection of Raga, Elaboration of Raga,
    Composition, Alap, Taan, Layakari and General Impression.
  8. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Western Vocal Solo

  1. Each school can send only one entry for the competition.
  2. A maximum of 3 accompanists are permitted using western instruments only.
  3. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  4. The duration of the performance should be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes.
  5. Setting time for a group shall not exceed 3 minutes.
  6. Participants may perform any western genre such as pop, jazz, blues, rock, country & contemporary music etc.
  7. Participants must ensure that the lyrics and presentation are appropriate and free from offensive content.
  8. Judgement will be based on vocal quality and clarity, pitch accuracy, rhythm, expression, stage presence, song selection, creativity and overall performance impact.
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Western Instrumental Solo

  1. Each school can send only one entry for the competition.
  2. A maximum of 2 accompanists are permitted using western instruments only.
  3. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  4. Time for stage/instruments setting is a maximum of 3 minutes.
  5. The duration of the performance should be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes.
  6. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  7. Judgement will be based on technical skills, rhythm, melody, creativity & overall impact.
  8. Participants may perform using any western musical instrument (e.g. Guitar, keyboard, saxophone, ukulele etc.)
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion)

  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. Duration of performance shall be between 6–8 minutes.
  3. Time for stage/instruments setting is a maximum of 3 minutes.
  4. Maximum number of accompanists is 2.
  5. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  6. Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnataka style.
  7. Judgment will be based on qualities like Taal, content, Selection of Raga, Composition, musicality, clarity precision of strokes and General Impression.
  8. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Classical Instrumental Solo (Non- Percussion)

  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. Duration of performance shall be between 6-8 minutes.
  3. Time for stage/instruments setting is a maximum of 3 minutes.
  4. Maximum number of accompanists is 2.
  5. Participants must bring their own instruments e.g. Casio & Harmonium is allowed.
  6. Instruments of western origin adopted by the Indian Raga system are allowed.
  7. Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnataka style.
  8. Judgment will be based on qualities like Taal, content, Selection of Raga, Composition, musicality, clarity, precision of strokes and General Impression.
  9. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  10. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Group Song (Indian)

  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. A team has to present two songs, one patriotic and another a folk song.
  3. Minimum of 5 & Maximum 6 singers in a group and up to 3 accompanists playing instruments.
  4. The group songs should be in Indian languages or regional languages.
  5. No film songs should be presented as a group song.
  6. Duration of performance shall be between 6–8 minutes, excluding setting time.
  7. Setting time for a group shall not exceed 4 minutes.
  8. Judgment will be based on the quality of singing, Selection of Song, Pronunciation, Coordination and not on makeup, costumes and actions of the team.
  9. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
  10. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.

Folk Vocal Solo

  1. Each school can send only one entry for the competition.
  2. A maximum of three accompanists are permitted.
  3. The duration of the performance should be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes.
  4. Accompaniment must be performed live. Use of recorded music, karaoke or pre-recorded tracks is strictly not allowed.
  5. Participants may sing folk songs representing any region or culture.
  6. A maximum setting time of 4 minutes will be provided before the performance.
  7. The decision of the judges will be final and non-objectionable.
  1. Only one entry per school is allowed.
  2. It will be a group event.
  3. Each group will be given 4-5 minutes of performance time.
  4. A team must consist of 10-14 participants.
  5. The overall performance must be based on choreography and fashion trends in clothing.
  6. Participating teams have to focus on dressing style, hairstyle, makeup, props, music and accessories
    etc.
  7. Judgment will be based on walk, theme justification, costume and confidence.
  8. Participants must present the theme “Incredible Vadodara” in a traditional, contemporary, or
    fusion style, creatively showcasing the city’s art, culture, heritage, traditions and modern identity
    through costume, styling, and concept.
  9. Themes related to social causes will not be entertained.
  10. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
